Vampire Weekend's Drummer Injured in Hit-And-Run

Vampire Weekend’s Chris Tomson was the victim of a hit and run last night in London, according to reports from Pitchfork and NME.com. Just after midnight, local time, the unfortunate drummer was struck by a car that just kept driving.

An ambulance rushed Mr. Tomson to Royal London Hospital, where doctors kept him overnight for head and neck injuries. No worries, this is no Rick Allen situation. He was released this morning and “declared 100% fit,” according to a statement from the group’s publicist, and should be making beats for the band again soon.

Although the band cancelled tonight’s in-store appearance, VW will be keeping their North American tour dates. They will return to the U.S. this weekend.
