If you’d like a vacation from pimpin’ priapic governors and the daily implosion of the Democratic Party (thanks, Hillary!) plunge into a feel-good eco experience! Smart—you know, like Smart cars, those adorable Euro-vehicles—releases a book that will tickle Al Gore’s happy bone: Sideways: A Smart Art Project features artistic representations of green transportation by the likes of Terence Koh, Hanna Liden and Steven Klein, the photographer best known for those domestic-abuse-suggesting shots of Brangelina in W a while back. Eco-warriors expected to pull on their hemp trousers and attend include Julie Gilhart, towering fashion director of Barney’s, and Pilar Viladas of The New York Times Magazine. And then, shucks, automobile companies are just always thinking of the greater good! The Volvo for Life Awards honor “real-life heroes,” chosen for their altruism by a panel of judges including Hank Aaron, Senator Bill Bradley and Edsel B. Ford II (the rich insist on marking themselves with these names!), all of whom will be entertained by Ziggy Marley, likely the youngest person in attendance by 30 years …
