Bothered by tone of Sabrin’s campaign, Lonegan cancels appearance at fundraiser

Fed up with the negative tone of Murray Sabrin’s U.S. Senate campaign — especially what has been described as excessive name-calling – Steve Lonegan has cancelled his appearance at a Sabrin fundraiser next week. Lonegan, the former Mayor of Bogota and the leader of the state’s conservative wing, is a possible candidate for the 2009 GOP gubernatorial nomination.

There is considerable speculation that an anonymous website that appears to have been launched on Friday that has launched some fairly vicious and unsubstantiated attacks against potential rival John Crowley, is the product of the Sabrin campaign.
