The vote on whether to change term limits legislatively will take place next week.
That’s according to an exchange Michael Bloomberg had with radio host John Gambling this morning. Before asking the mayor if he was confident that the bill would pass the City Council, Gambling asked, “They take a vote next week, correct?”
“Yep,” Bloomberg said. The mayor went on to say that he’s cautiously optimistic about the bill passing.
A spokesman for City Council Speaker Christine Quinn said that is not accurate, and that no date for the vote has been set. A spokesman for Bloomberg did not immediately respond to an inquiry about the mayor’s comment.
