Shulman for Bloomberg as a Republican, Independent or Democrat

Sitting on a bench outside the mayor’s office just now was Claire Shulman, the former Queens borough president who is now a lobbyist for a group trying to develop Willets Point—an endeavor whose outcome will depend on a vote being taken today.

Shulman was also one of the initial members of the group “Democrats for Bloomberg,” which supported the then-Republican mayor as he ran for a second term in office.

So, I asked Shulman if she'd support him if he ran in the Democratic primary (a scenario I'm obsessing about at the moment).

Shulman told me, “I have no idea what flag he’ll run under, but I’ll support him.” Shulman cited Bloomberg's fiscal management and experience governing, saying, “We cannot afford on-the-job training.”

So, yes.
