The New York Hotel Workers Union announced that it’s endorsing City Council candidate Julissa Ferreras in Jackson Heights.
The union’s president Peter Ward said in a public statement that Ferreras “understands the issues and shares the aspirations of our members and working people throughout the district and the city.”
Already, Ferreras was endorsed by 14 City Council members, plus the Queens chapter of the Working Families Party, which usually precedes a flood of union support.
Also running are Democratic District Leader Francisco Moya, who was endorsed by Representative Nydia Velazquez, and several local residents.
