Gioia Raises Funds From Simon, Zimmerman

A few of the contributions Eric Gioia collected for his public advocate bid caught my eye when I was looking through the latest filings. (Gioia, of course, is known locally to have notable friends.)

Paul Simon, the singer/songwriter, donated $750 on January 9.

Two days later, the campaign got $1,224 from Democratic National Committee member Robert Zimmerman.

And, farther back, a $250 donation on September 16 from Peter Hatch, who once served as chief of staff to Bill de Blasio, who entered the race months later.
