Paterson Decides Not to Go to Davos

HYDE PARK—David Paterson has canceled a planned trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

"I think I'll stay here," Paterson said when asked about the trip after speaking at a conference on green energy at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Presidential Library. "Someone asked me that yesterday afternoon, and what we were doing was to go there and try to entice business to New York State, but really because of this deficit reduction and the desire to get it moving as soon as possible, when I heard the question and thought it over I thought, perhaps it would be a better idea to go another time, and send a couple of assistants and stay with the legislature to work on the budget."

Below is a video of Paterson's response Sunday when asked about his visit to Davos:

Additionally, with 11 months until the race, there is still ample time for a dynamic shift that could leave another candidate at the top.
