The Wall Street Journal‘s Shira Ovide is reporting that the paper "received more than a dozen envelopes containing an unknown white powder" today.
According to Ms. Ovide, the letters were addressed to executives at the paper’s New York offices and the floor where executives and the editorial-page staff work has been evacuated.
In 2001, several media organizations including The New York Post, which, like The Wall Street Journal, is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation were sent letters containing anthrax.
Ms. Ovide quotes an email sent to employees in the New York office informing them, "While we don’t think there is cause for alarm at this time, we are asking everyone not to open any mail while we investigate."
