Spitzer Spent $128K, Still Has $300K

Bill Mahoney of NYPIRG sends word that former governor Eliot Spitzer filed his latest campaign finance report, indicating that even though he left office abruptly in March, he’s spent $128,215.55.

A lot of it was spent on wages for campaign aides, and consulting from Skadden Arps, a major law firm.

That’s far more than the $49,420 in contributions he refunded to donors like Fernando Ferrer ($200) and Zimmerman-Edelson ($500).

Most interesting is that Spitzer still has plenty of money in the bank: $299,143.81.
