City Council candidate Julissa Ferreras, who is running to replace Hiram Monserrate in one of the February 24 special elections, was endorsed by two gay Democratic clubs last night.
The first is the Lesbian and Gay Democratic Club of Queens. According to the club’s president, there were 14 in favor of Ferreras, five for rival Francisco Moya and one for George Dixon. No other candidate in the race received votes.
The Jim Owles Club, based in Manhattan, also endorsed Ferreras.
These endorsements come on the heels of the endorsement Moya got from the Stonewall Democrats, one of the oldest gay Democratic clubs in the city, also based in Manhattan.
