Angelology Author Goes With Molly Stern; Gets a Million Dollar Movie Deal

Last week The Observer reported that Danielle Trussoni, author of the memoir Falling Through the Earth, had sold her debut novel, Angelology, to Viking Books, and was trying to decide which editor at the Penguin imprint she would rather work with. There were two gunning for the privilege: Molly Stern, who oversees all fiction at Viking, and Pam Dorman, who is in the early stages of starting her own eponymous imprint there. Ms. Trussoni met with both, and has made a decision, we can now report, to go with Ms. Stern.

In other Angelology news (which you may have seen this weekend on Gawker): Variety reports that Columbia beat Universal in a million dollar auction for film rights to Angelology, which will be produced by Will Smith and James Lassiter's company Overbrook Entertainment.
