Also at the (eventful!) rally today, City Councilman Larry Seabrook called on the city to pull any advertising it may have in the New York Post.
(Not clear if there is any at the moment.)
Seabrook also said the City Council will vote on a resolution to urge the F.C.C. to rescind the waver that allows the newspaper’s owner, Rupert Murdoch, own television stations in the city.
That may put pressure on Michael Bloomberg and Christine Quinn, neither of whom attended the rally.
City Councilwoman Maria Baez had another message: boycott companies that advertise in the Post. “And as far as I’m concerned, Murdoch, you can take your apology and shove it,” she said.
As my own observation, the anger at this rally was much more palpable than at any other I’ve attended in recent memory.
