Former U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie submitted another $305,245 for matching funds, bringing the total raised for his campaign for the GOP gubernatorial nomination to $944,838. If today’s submission to the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission is approved, he will receive an additional $610,490 in public financing. Christie has already received $996,914 in matching funds.
Lonegan, the former Mayor of Bogota, submitted $57,304 in additional dollars raised. If approved, this would bring him an additional $114,608 ib public funds.
In a statement released today, Christie’s campaign says they will disclose the names of all contributors who contribute one dollar or more, even though ELEC requires disclosing only those who donate over $300.The campaign also requires all donors to sign a donor card that includes a statement that says, “I have not been promised anything in return for this contribution other than a better New Jersey state government.”
