As John Liu’s kick off announcement for city comptroller was coming to an end yesterday, supporters of Melinda Katz, the only woman in the race, handed out this letter touting the support she has.
Letter-signers include Geraldine Ferraro, Representative Yvette Clarke, several City Council members, and even a district leader from Liu’s Flushing neighborhood, Martha Flores-Vasquez.
The letter says, “Amid this challenging environment, women in families throughout New York sit around their kitchen tables figuring out how to make ends meet, making difficult decisions about their budgets and priorities that are in the best interests of their families. We need a comptroller who can do the same for the City’s budget and finances.”
