Anthony Weiner, who said he's not actively campaigning for mayor and has indicated that he may not run, would still beat Bill Thompson in a Democratic mayoral primary, according to a Quinnipiac poll released this morning.
In a hypothetical matchup, Weiner leads Thompson 30 to 23 percent among Democrats, with 38 percent undecided. In February, a poll showed Weiner beating Thompson 32 to 22 percent, with 42 percent undecided.
However, if the general election were held today, both would lose to Michael Bloomberg.
Bloomberg leads Weiner 46 to 36 percent, which is a slightly narrower margin than last month, when it was 48 to 36.
There's an even larger margin between Bloomberg and Thompson–49 to 35 percent. However, it's a slighter narrower margin than last month's 50 to 33.
The poll, which surveyed 1,142 registered voters in New York City, collected data between March 17 and 22 The results were emailed to reporters this morning, and will be posted here shortly.
