A reader attending Michael Bloomberg's press conference on new environmental standards for buildings at Rockefeller Center right now emails with a colorful detail related, in a minor way, to this:

"Stu [Loeser] has two things in the pocket of his bag: the Observer and a letter from the White House."

When asked about the envelope from the White House, Loeser emailed to explain what's in it: photos of a meeting that Bloomberg, along with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ed Rendell, had with Barack Obama at the White House.
