Dilan Optimistic M.T.A. Stuff Won’t Get Extraordinary

ALBANY—State Senator Martin Malave Dilan didn’t seem particularly worked up over David Paterson’s declaration this morning that, starting April 20, he will keep legislators in Albany until an agreement on how to bridge the M.T.A.’s deficit is reached.
“I believe we have until the end of April to come up with a plan,” said Dilan, head of the Transportation Committee, told me in front of a fireplace in the Senate chamber. “Do we want to get it done sooner than later? Yes. But the budget is the priority.”
Based on the rate they’re going, that means not much will get done this week.
