Representative: Is Obama Going to Do Something About Paterson, Too?

At least one member of the New York congressional delegation thinks Barack Obama may have set himself an untenable precedent when he pressured Steve Israel not to challenge Kirsten Gillibrand in a primary.
The representative, a Democrat, said the delegation did not take kindly to the White House’s intrusion into local matters anyway. But now that Obama, through the strong-arming of Israel by Rahm Emanuel, has demonstrated a willingness to involve himself in a New York race, he will also be expected to come in and save the day when it comes to the potentially more problematic situation involving David Paterson.
“He’s invited himself into a much bigger problem,” said the representative.
