The Queens County Democratic Party isn’t saying what, if anything, they’re prepared to do in response to the coup in the State Senate.
For them, it’s especially painful.
A Democratic majority leader from Queens, Malcolm Smith, was deposed in a coup made possible by a Democratic senator from Queens, Hiram Monserrate.
Michael Reich, the executive vice president of the Queens County Democratic Party, isn’t saying too much right now.
“I don’t know enough about what’s going on over there. We support Malcolm Smith and the Democratic majority. And a lot of options are being looked at,” he said.
Do those options include a primary challenge to Monserrate?
“I have nothing else to say at this time.
