It was only a month ago that Facebook made custom URLs available to their users. Back then, users sat at their computers at midnight on a Friday to get their chosen username, because Facebook warned them they would only be able to choose once. But ReadWriteWeb alerts us today that Facebook quietly launched a new option in their settings page that allows users to change their coveted URL.
Here’s how to do it: Click on “Settings” at the top-right corner of your Facebook home page. In the pull-down menu, click “Account Settings.” Next to “Username,” click on “Change” to type in a new username and don’t forget to “Confirm” once you’re done.
All the users who created prank URLs as a gaffe can now breathe a sigh of online identity relief!
Facebook added a note: “Choose your new username carefully. You can only change your username once.” Are you guys sure this time?
