ALBANY—Here’s a photo of the last page of State Senator Hiram Monserrate’s required disclosure form with the Legislative Ethics Commission.
The questions don’t reveal much. But after reading about Gavin Newsom’s underlining habits, Monserrate’s treatment of question 19 caught my eye.
It asks him to list any liabilities over $5,000, but legislators “shall not list any obligation to pay maintenance in connection with a matrimonial action, alimony, or child support payments.”
Monserrate underlined that sentence, as well the following one which also exempts legislators from reporting almost any other loan that a normal person would take.
As for the question, the Queens Democrat’s answer was simple: none.
