Fallout: Senate Won’t Act on Mack Nomination

ALBANY—The State Senate will not act Thursday on the nomination of David Mack to another term as a board member of the Port Authority after he was named in a report by Attorney General Andrew Cuomo about political influence of the State Police.

“In light of the report, the Senate has decided not to take up the nomination of Mr. Mack on September 10,” Austin Shafran, a spokesman for the Democratic majority, said.

Mack, a donor, was ceremonially given the rank of colonel for a non-salaried post, despite questionable police experience.
