New Jerseyans slated to get DNC seats

Barbra Casbar Siperstein, the New Jersey Stonewall Democrats president, is expected to win a seat on the Democratic National Committee when the DNC meets next week. Siperstein, who is openly transgender, is one of 75 people nominated for new at-large national committee seats created to increase representation of Democratic base vote groups within the national party structure. Rev. William Howard, pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Newark and the Rutgers Board of Governors Chairman, is also slated to get a DNC seat.
