It’s so good it should be the final! And yet, after about an eight hour rain delay today, there are probably no more than 5,000 people present for the Serena-Clijsters semifinal. The upper deck–where the vast majority of the seats are in the stadium–is almost completely empty. In the lower sections, people are scattered. The mist has returned here–which has temporarily suspended the Wickmayer-Wozniacki semifinal where Zack Woolfe reports from Armstrong there are 200 people present–but they march on in Ashe, for now.
