It’s been nearly nine hours since a tennis ball has been in Queens, but we’re going to get some tennis for you. Very quietly, it has stopped raining. Even more quietly, both courts are in the final stages of being completely dried.
Kim Clijsters and Serena Williams have just taken to the Ashe court, which isn’t even a third full. Armstrong has a few hundred people for the other women’s semis.
The conditions outside aren’t so bad, either. It’s a bit chilly and damp, like a playoff baseball game, but there isn’t much wind. Armstrong is bascially completely dried, and the Ashe court is dry-as-a-bone (for now)
Nonetheless, let’s play!
