Sears Thinks It Was Term Limits

I’m at the City Council hearing right now and just asked Helen Sears, who lost her bid for re-election on Tuesday, what role her vote to extend term limits played in her defeat.

“I think a very strong role,” Sears said before disappearing into the elevator here.

Not in attendance today are Maria Baez, who is trailing her opponent; John Liu, who is leading in the comptroller’s race; and Tom White, who is holding onto a six-vote lead.

UPDATE: Liu arrived toward the end of the stated session.
