Biden will appear at a rally in Watertown at the Northside Improvement League. This is the second visit to the area by Biden, who during a trip to Syracuse held a fundraiser for Owens. A Democratic source familiar with campaign strategy said that a DCCC officials were also mulling a visit from Bill Clinton or Michelle Obama. Robocalls by Andrew Cuomo and Barack Obama are also expected to come this weekend, and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand appeared with Owens today.
“I’m honored to have the President and Vice President’s support,” Owens said in a statement. “I am excited to welcome the Vice President to Watertown where we’ll discuss my plans to create jobs Upstate and my commitment to helping turn the page on the George Bush economic agenda.”
Doug Hoffman’s final push includes a visit by country music star John Rich. I haven’t heard of any big names coming into the district for Dede Scozzafava.
