Big times for Bed-Stuy: not only are realtors taking note of its bargain real estate, but a group of block associations is pushing for official recognition of its historic brownstones.
The Bedford Corners neighborhood (which has its own web site) “is on its way to landmark designation,” reported Brownstoner today—neighborhood advocates have submitted a Request for Evaluation to the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The group “presents a compelling case,” wrote Marty Markowitz in his letter of support.
And—noted the Daily News in their Sunday feature on the neighborhood—”even block parties, banned since ’98, are back.”
