Duffy has been rumored as (and denies) being on Cuomo's short list for lieutenant governor, should Cuomo ever seek to become governor. (He has repeatedly said publicly that he is running for attorney general "at this time," despite his rampant fund-raising.) Morelle, too, is a long-time Cuomo ally.
