Earlier today, I posted an ad that said an unspecified Democrat in New York City was looking to hire a finance director for an upcoming citywide race.
Two sources have contacted me saying that Democrat is Scott Stringer, the Manhattan Borough President.
One of those sources forwarded to me a second ad, which actually lists “Stringer 2013″ as the organization doing the hiring, for the finance director job. The ad asked applicants to send their resumes and writing samples to the same email address as was listed in the first ad I posted. (I redacted the email address in the original one).
The second source said they got their information from a series of conversations with knowledgable people (sources with their own sources!).
Stringer has over a million dollars on hand after his easy re-election this year. A Stringer aide did not deny it was their ad, and declined to comment further.
Here’s the ad that was forwarded to me by a reader, who said it was floating around Staten Island.
