Judges order stay on Christie’s 90-day COAH freeze

A panel of Appellate Division judges has ordered a stay on the part of Gov. Christopher Christie’s 12th executive Order that freezes the Council on Affordable Housing’s (COAH) activities for 90 days.

The order comes in response to the Fair Share Housing Center’s motion to invalidate Christie’s executive order, which also creates a task force to evaluate COAH headed by former state Sen. Marcia Karrow (R-Raritan).

The stay was the minimum the affordable housing advocacy group sought in its suit.
