Senate Transportation Committee Chairman Nicholas Sacco (D-North Bergen) is praising the appointment of State Sen. Bill Baroni (R-Hamilton) as Deputy Executive Director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
“Decisions made at the Port Authority have a very real impact on our side of the river, and I know Senator Baroni will do his best to make sure New Jersey has a voice at the table,” said Sacco, who is also the Mayor of North Bergen. “I’m glad Senator Baroni will be there representing our interests, and I look forward to speaking to him about his vision for New Jersey’s transportation future.”
Senate Minority Leader Thomas Kean, Jr. (R-Westfield) called Baroni a great Senator and a trusted friend.
“He has always been an independent voice for the people of his district. Bill is a dedicated public servant and I’m sure he’ll bring the same commitment to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey,” said Kean. “His dynamic voice will be missed by all the members of our caucus.”
