Lautenberg will return to Senate in between chemo treatments

Frank Lautenberg’s doctors present an optimistic view of his treatment for b-cell lymphoma of the stomach, saying that the 86-year-old Democrat can return to work in Washington between chemotherapy treatments.  In a statement released today, Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver (D-East Orange) called Lautenberg “a tough guy who never backs down from a fight” and predicted a full and complete recovery for the five-term United States Senator.

“I wouldn’t be too surprised to soon hear how he’s once again outpacing younger aides as they walk through U.S. Capitol building. After all, nothing has ever been able to hold Sen. Lautenberg down,” Oliver said.
