Nurses pick new leader

Patricia Barnett, a nurse and attorney, is the new Chief Executive officer of the New Jersey State Nurses Association, a group of 110,000 registered nurses.  Barrett served as as Director and Government Affairs Manager for Bristol-Myers Squibb in Princeton from 1987 to 1993 and again in 1997 and 1998. She was Director of Economic and General Welfare for the Illinois Nurses Association in Chicago from 1979 until 1987. More recently, Barnett has served as Executive Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs for Forest Laboratories, Inc.

She succeeds former Assemblywoman Barbara Wright (R-Plainsboro), who was acting CEO after Andrea Augenbaugh, a former Hightstown mayor and Democratic State Senate candidate, retired.
