Report: Feds Probing Aqueduct Deal

WPIX is reporting that federal authorities are investigating David Paterson’s decision to award a contract to operate a video casino at Aqueduct Raceway to a business group connected to Floyd Flake, the influential pastor in Queens.

“Two reliable sources confirm the investigation is ‘very fresh,’ but could not say precisely what it is prosecutors are looking at other than questions about public integrity,” WPIX reported. Their story goes on to specify the Aqueduct deal.

A spokeswoman for Paterson, Marissa Shorenstein, emailed to say, “We are not aware of a federal investigation with respect to AEG,” referring to the bid winner.

The Aqueduct deal has been overshadowed by unfounded rumors about Paterson’s personal life, but may, in the long run, be more troublesome.
