Sources: Kolluri may run for District 14 senate seat

Kris Kolluri, who served as Commissioner of Transportation and then as CEO of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA) under Gov. Jon Corzine, is a likely candidate for the Democratic State Senate nomination in the 14th district, two party sources said today.

The 40-year-old West Windsor resident served as Legislative Director to U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews (D-Haddon Heights) and House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt (D-Missouri) before joining Parker McCay, a politically influential South Jersey law firm.  He also served as Assistant Transportation Commissioner under John Lettiere.

Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo (D-Hamilton) earlier today told PolitickerNJ.com that he intends to pursue a run for Democratic Party support for the seat now held by state Sen. Bill Baroni (R-Hamilton). Gov. Chris Christie announced today that Baroni is his choice as deputy executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
