John Lennon’s former townhouse at 1 White Place–which he and Yoko Ono tried to declare the Nutopian Embassy so he wouldn’t get deported–is up for sale, reports Curbed.
On April Fool’s Day 1973, Mr. Lennon and Ms. Ono held a press conference to announce the new country, and declared its flag to be a white hankerchief. “The current owners still receive letters of sympathy intended for Yoko Ono, and the house is occasionally photographed by John Lennon fans,” brags the listing, which offers the place for $3.25 million.
It looks pretty standard, aside from the connection to Beatles lore; as Curbed notes, “there isn’t much that’s wacky in the design.”
