Skyler Flies the Coop

Rangy deputy mayor, and occasional hero, Edward Skyler is leaving City Hall for much greener pastures. Citigroup just issued a press release saying the company has hired Mr. Skyler, and he’ll be reporting directly to C.E.O. Vikram Pandit. 

It’s not so surprising. Mr. Skyler and another recently departed deputy mayor, Kevin Sheekey, were reported to be the two top aides arguing against Mayor Bloomberg’s decision to seek a third term. With the third term now underway, they’re both out.
