Watson Avraham to enter Trenton mayor’s race this week

Controversial businessman Emmanuel Shahid Watson Avraham plans to make his formal announcment to run for Mayor of Trenton on March 9th, according to a press release issued by his fledgling campaign.

The candidate joins a bulging field of candidates, including Councilwoman Annette Lartigue, Mercer County Freeholder Keith Hamilton, businessman John Harmon, DPW Director Eric Jackson, businessman Frank Weeden, Council President Paul Pintellla, former Freeholder Tony Mack, At-Large Councilman Manuel Segura, and Board of Education Vice President Alex Brown.

A Baptist turned Jew, Watson Avraham lost his $1.5 million state contract to teach life skills to inmates in 2006, according to press reports.

“I’ll be running, I just don’t want to participate in the debates until I formally launch my campaign,” Watson Avraham told PolitickerNJ.com last Tuesday, where he stood in the back of the Mill Hill Playhouse observing the declared candidates for mayor debate onstage.
