In a stunning retraction, Associated Press tonight admitted they messed up a report suggesting that Gov. Christopher Christie’s payroll is $2 million more than that of his predecessor, Jon Corzine. The actual difference between the two administrations is actually $440,000, the AP says. The Christie administration vigorously disputed the facts of the story on Monday, but the AP ran it anyway. The AP also acknowledged that they were wrong in stating that twice as many Christie staffers had six figure salaries than in the Corzine front office.
