Craig Schley, a former intern to Rep. Charlie Rangel, sent out an email this afternoon adding his name to the growing list of Mr. Rangel’s challengers. Mr. Schley joins another former Rangelite, Vince Morgan, who was a campaign aide to the congressman.
Mr. Schley ran against Mr. Rangel in 2008–making some hay out of opposing the rezoning in Harlem–but not enough that Mr. Rangel ever really acknowledged him as a challenger.
Mr. Schley is a former Wilhelmina model who worked on the City Council campaign of Felipe Luciano, and also interned for New York County Supreme Court Justice Faviola Soto. He is running as the candidate of the Independent Party and also a party he founded called VOTE People for Change.
He cites two endorsements so far: Paul Mooney, a comedian, and William Shea, Jr.
