Anybody else enjoying the slugfest between Eric Schneiderman and Kathleen Rice over crime stats during her tenure as district attorney in Nassau?
Rice’s campaign said “Crime is down 3 percent” compared to last year at this time, but added, “Everybody realizes that crime stats ebb and flow due to a number of issues.” Those issues include the economy, population changes, etc.
Schneiderman’s campaign latched onto the “ebb and flow” part of that statement, and said, “We applaud the Rice campaign for admitting today what their candidate denied just 48 hours ago on TV — that crime went up in Nassau County.”
