Time‘s vice president of sales, Brendan Ripp, has been promoted to publisher by Time Inc. president Mark Ford, according to Politico.
“In addition to his current responsibilities overseeing ad sales for TIME magazine, Brendan will add digital ad sales for TIME.com and LIFE.com to his portfolio,” said TIME President Mark Ford, adding that “[s]ince Brendan assumed his previous VP Sales role last year, TIME’s share of market has increased while growing both the Person of the Year and TIME 100 annuity programs.”
Ripp replaces former publisher Donald Fries, who left the company in March 2009 during a sweeping reorganization.
Earlier this week Time Inc. announced that it would be forming the “Alliance for Magazine Accountability,” along with a major ad-buyer, to attract advertisers by promising specific reader-recall rates on spots in Time Inc. magazines.
