Observer Media Group is pleased to announce the hiring of Darryl Isherwood as the new editor of PolitickerNJ.com, New Jersey’s premier source of political news, insight and commentary.
Isherwood will replace the site’s founder, the keen observer of all things political known to readers by the pen name Wally Edge, who has decided to retire after more than 10 years as the editor of PolitickerNJ.
“Darryl’s energy and experience will help us build upon the great platform we have built at PolitickerNJ.com and help us take the site to a whole new level,” commented Jared Kushner, owner of PolitickerNJ.com.
Isherwood is an award-winning journalist who covered state and local politics for more than eight years as a reporter for the Times of Trenton and The Morning Call, in Allentown, PA. Most recently he served as a senior reporter for Fox Business Network, where he covered real estate, financial reform and the intersection of money and politics.
“This is an exciting opportunity for a guy who grew up enmeshed in the state’s political culture,” Isherwood said. “PolitickerNJ truly is a site that offers something for everyone, whether you’re looking for commentary on a county freeholder race or up-to-the-minute coverage of the state budget. As the new editor, I plan to continue the tradition of providing the most detailed behind-the-scenes political coverage in the state, while expanding the in-depth reporting that has made PolitickerNJ the go-to site for the state’s political set.”
Isherwood, will begin on June 17 and is the first of several hires planned for the site as PolitickerNJ strengthens its day to day legislative coverage.
PolitickerNJ reporter Max Pizarro, a mainstay of the site for the past three years, will continue to scour the state in search of the day’s top political stories.
