This morning Wired editor Chris Anderson announced that, after nine days, the magazine’s first iPad edition has sold 73,000 copies.
Wired‘s newsstand sales average in the mid-80,000s for an entire month, Mr. Anderson wrote. Both editions retail for $4.99.
“Can now die happy,” tweeted Mr. Anderson, after having his title included in Mr. Job’s address.
Earlier this month Condé Nast editorial director Tom Wallace spoke with The Times about Wired‘s launch on the iPad.
“This is the beginning of a revolution,” he said.
UPDATE: An earlier version of this post reported the number of iPad editions sold as 79,000. The correct number is 73,000.
