Pat Kiernan found inconsistency In the Papers this morning looking at the The New York Times front page.
The Times’ standards editor put a stop order on the word “tweet” yesterday because it is not standard English, but this morning the word “Gooooooal” (six zeros, not standard) appears on the front page in a deck under a photo from the World Cup opening ceremony.
“For a paper yesterday that said it’s not going to use the word ‘tweet’ as a verb anymore, it’s a fairly colloquial headline,” Mr. Kiernan said.
Pat, take it easy!
