All five Democrats vying to become the next attorney general will have something of a Kumbaya moment tomorrow, putting aside campaign differences to attend a press conference in lower Manhattan tomorrow urging Gov. David Paterson to sign legislation that would outlaw the NYPD's stop-and-frisk database.

The presser is being organized by Public Advocate Bill deBlasio.

I was only able to speak with one of the five, Assemblyman Richard Brodsky, who pointed out that he spoke out in favor of the bill on the floor of the Assembly when it was being debated.

Brodsky praised his fellow candidates for speaking on the issue, but couldn't resist getting a few digs in as well.

"I think that's good," he said of everyone's attendance. "But I do want to point out that I have been active on this for a longtime. I'm glad everyone is coming to the press conference but I've also got a record that predates the press conference."

Brodsky then got off the phone to duck into a meeting with Congressman Ed Towns.

The next day, all five will be together again for a debate at Medger Evers College.

Last week, the City Council's Black, Latino and Asian Caucus sent Paterson a letter urging him to sign the legislation.
