Ellen Rosenbush is Officially the Editor of Harper’s

After nearly six months as the acting editor of Harper's Magazine following the departure of Roger Hodge, Ellen Rosenbush will keep the title of editor for good. Harper's president and check-writer Rick MacArthur announced the news in a release this morning. Ms. Rosenbush was the managing editor of the magazine from 1989 until she began covering for Mr. Hodge in February. Last time we heard, Harper's was having trouble holding onto staff. Maybe Ms. Rosenbush will be able to hire now that she is officially in charge. Ms. Rosenbush is the first woman to hold the top spot at the magazine, officially.

UPDATE: Ms. Rosenbush hired Christopher Cox as a senior editor from The Paris Review earlier this month. She has also hired several assistant editors.
