"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife," begins Pride and Prejudice. But in a city of so many good-fortuned men, their potential wives must operate with discrimination! Luckily, news blog Here Is the City has assembled a helpful guide to indicate which banking firms produce the best husbands.

The site reached out to Ivana Takitall, author of Bankers, Bonuses & Big Divorce Settlements to assemble a breakdown of what women — and only women, apparently — can expect from suitors on a firm-by-firm basis.

Citi, Credit Suisse, Goldman and Morgan Stanley come off particularly well, matrimony-wise. Deutsche Bank and Societe Generale are given bonus points for employing skilled lovers. Barclays Capital moneymen should be approached with caution, however, because some of the bankers who came over from Lehman Brothers "had a lot of their net worth invested in that firm, and aren't now as well off as you might expect."

JP Morgan bankers may be a little frumpy but they have other qualities that recommend them.

Imagine a firm full of little Jamie Dimons. Exquisite.

No other word for it, really.
